Dr. Oscar Alba, D.C.

PARTNER, CHIROPRACTOR

Dr. Oscar Alba; graduated from Brock University receiving a Bachelor of Kinesiology while playing soccer at a varsity level. He completed his chiropractic degree at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto. While at CMCC he had a chance to use his knowledge working for the Ontario Soccer Association (OSA) as a medical officer traveling around Canada with high-level soccer teams. His treatment style consists of a mixture of muscle/myofascial release techniques, joint manipulation/adjustments, electrical and non-electrical acupuncture, IFC, and ultrasound to help relieve musculoskeletal pain. All treatments follow a unique set of rehabilitation exercises to functionally overcome structural damage. He has a strong belief that most painful conditions arise from muscular dysfunction. A series of muscles that are weak, inhibited, or tight create an imbalance in the body leading to altered mechanics and pain. He has spent countless hours reading and developing exercise routines and treatment options to help patients with arthritic joints, especially conditions involving the hip and the knee.

Dr. Oscar Alba also provides custom-made orthotics as well as sports braces. This includes knee braces, shoulder braces, elbow braces, ankle braces, and hand and wrist braces.

She mixes her background in yoga, dance, and strength training with her education to provide her own style and approach to care. Her treatment style consists of: myofascial release techniques, joint manipulations/adjustments, electrical and non-electrical acupuncture, IFC, ultrasound, laser therapy, instrument-assisted soft tissue therapy, rehabilitation, mindfulness, and education. Her rehabilitation programming typically consists of components of strength training and mobility work focusing on what is more required for the patient. Overall, she works with her patients as a team providing them with the tools necessary to help manage and to understand their own pain, thus helping to prevent the issue(s) from becoming a chronic problem.
